Mount Vernon City Schools 2025–2026 Food Service Policy

All students will be included in the Community Eligibility
Provision (CEP). All students are automatically entitled to free breakfast and lunch each school day. The Federal Income Eligibility Guidelines will no longer be used to determine who qualifies — all children are included. This means families no longer need to submit a lunch application in order for their children to receive free breakfast and lunch....however there may be additional state and federal benefits.

Important Form for Additional Student Benefits

While meal applications are no longer required, families may still be asked to complete a separate Household Income Form. This form is important because it helps determine if your family qualifies for additional state and federal program benefits, such as:

  • Reduced fees for driver’s education
  • Discounts for internet and technology access
  • Support for academic and extracurricular programs

By completing and returning this form, you are helping your child and our schools access important resources and funding that go beyond school meals.
